We are proud to be an out of school club with a difference and are passionate about delivering outstanding care and opportunities to the children aged 4-11 who attend our setting.

We are currently looking for a Playworker to join our small and friendly team at our Before and After School Club currently including myself, two Playleaders, a Playworker, and two Play Assistants.

Our breakfast sessions run 7:30 until 8:30am and our after school session run from 3:15 until 5:30pm Monday to Thursday and 2:00 until 5:00pm Friday. This vacancy is currently a fixed term contract for the remainder of the current academic year, working one to two days per week after school. However, it is imperative that you are able to provide cover both before and after school.

The ideal candidate for this role must have previous childcare experience, and ideally hold a relevant childcare or early years qualification or be willing to gain one. We will provide you with full induction training including Level 1 Safeguarding, Prevent and Basic First Aid. As part of our team you will have access to over 125 approved and accredited e-learning courses covering a wide variety of subjects. These include the EYFS, health and safety, food hygiene, data protection, safeguarding, financial crime and many more.

We are looking for someone hard-working, caring and passionate to fulfil this role, someone who is able to build strong relationships with children and respond to their needs. As a Playworker you will be expected to organise, plan and lead adult-led activities for young children as well help equip the children with the skills and resources needed to facilitate their own play. You must be a confident communicator able to build positive relationships with parents, carers and professionals. It can be physically demanding role, requiring you to set up play areas that encourage children to develop through play. You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding across a range of safeguarding topics, and be willing to keep up to date with the latest information through regular professional development opportunities.
